SPOTLIGHT ON THE TEAM

Trish and Lottie

Trish and Lottie

Man's Best Friend Kensington & Chelsea was established back in 2017 as a humble solo dog walking mission based out of Kensington Gardens and Holland Park, by our founder Emma White. In just four short years, the business has transformed into a bountiful doggy daycare paradise, manned by an ever growing team of dog loving professionals. Here, we take a moment to discover some fun facts about our some of our doting team members!

What's your favourite thing about MBFKC?

Ever since I first started working at MBFKC it was very clear to me that all the staff care deeply about every single dog in their care. The daycare is constantly evolving to ensure all the dogs have the most fun possible and every pack mate goes home each day with a happy wagging tail!

What's your favourite dog breed and why?

Aside from ANY rescue dog, it would have to be dachshunds!

How many dogs do you see yourself with in the future?

As many sausage dogs as I can handle!

Why did you decide to work with dogs?

Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I originally began working with zoo animals but then ended up doing rescue work with the RSPCA, and absolutely loved changing animals' lives for the better. You just can't beat the bond with a loyal furry best friend and that's something that I'm very passionate about.

Do you have any doggy related qualifications and previous experience?

My first hands-on experience with dogs came from volunteering with the Dogs Trust as a dog walker and that's when I knew for sure that I wanted to work specifically with dogs. I then got a job at a boarding kennels and cattery, followed by a job at an RSPCA rehoming centre for 5 years. During my time at the RSPCA I completed many courses, including grooming, handling and welfare. I also hold a certificate in dog first aid.

Why did you decide to work with dogs?

I've been obsessed with animals for as long as I can remember.. I'm that crazy lady that stops every dog in the street to pet it (sorry not sorry)! After an epiphany in my mid 20s I decided I wanted to spend my life working with the one thing that makes me happier than anything else.. DOGS! I can honestly say I've never looked back!

Do you have any doggy related qualifications and previous experience?

I attended veterinary school for three years, and also have qualifications in dog first aid and behaviour. I've previously worked as a veterinary assistant, as well as at another doggy daycare and a boarding kennels. Whilst at university I also attended countless work placements at a multitude of animal related establishments!

What's your favourite dog breed and why?

I love all dogs; each one has their own unique personality and character. If I had to choose I would have to go for a sausage dog, like Trish!

What's your favourite thing about MBFKC?

When I worked on site I absolutely loved being surrounded by the dogs all day and working with an amazing team. Now that I'm working remotely on the admin side of things, I miss my hounds and humans dearly but am just so happy to be part of the gang again!

How many dogs do you see yourself with in the future?

My dream is to open my own rescue centre one day so I guess the answer would have to be HUNDREDS!

Why did you decide to work with dogs?
Like most of our team members, I have never not been a dog mum (Cocker Spaniels specifically). I moved to London from Sydney ten years ago and guess what I missed most about home (sorry friends and family, but it was my pup)! Having spent six years working in property within Kensington and Chelsea, I would send my own dog to a daycare whist in the office. I was inspired by the idea and the rest is history.

Do you have any doggy related qualifications and previous experience?
Since launching MBFKC in 2017, I have completed many behaviour, health, husbandry and licence based qualifications.

What's your favourite dog breed and why?
Cocker Spaniels - I’m currently mother to two, Pippin (7 years old) and Sage (1 year old). Growing up I had golden boy, Jed (my first dog), and Smudge.

What's your favourite thing about MBFKC?
I couldn’t choose between the wonderful people on my team, the incredible pack of dogs that we care for and of course their owners (dog people are the best people)!

How many dogs do you see yourself with in the future?
I think two is a great number, but honestly, can you ever have too many?

What's your favourite thing about MBFKC?
We have both great dogs and a great team! It's amazing to have a job that doesn't feel like work.

How many dogs do you see yourself with in the future?
As Lindsay Lohan once said in Mean Girls - "The limit does not exist".

Why did you decide to work with dogs?
I'd love to give a whole lecture about how much joy they bring me and how I prefer dogs over people, but I honestly just LOVE them!

Do you have any doggy related qualifications and/or previous experience?
I've worked with and handled dogs of all shapes and sizes for over two years. I also hold a certificate in dog first aid and a diploma in Canine Behaviour Training.

What's your favourite dog breed and why?
Is it cliché to say all of them?! I do particularly love Dobermans, Golden Retrievers and Cocker Spaniels though; I adore working dogs and a goal of mine is to work with and train service dogs.

I'm passionate about rescue dogs, however, I also love beagles as they're so funny and expressive and spaniels as they're the sweetest!

Who wouldn't want to work with dogs.. they're everything! They're so in tune with human feelings and always provide unconditional love and affection.

Do you have any doggy related qualifications and previous experience?
I grew up in a home filled with dogs! I have previously worked in other doggy daycares and as a dog walker. I have a certificate in dog first aid and plan to study several behaviour courses in future.

What's your favourite dog breed and why?
Now that's a tough one! I love them all, but I would have to say toy poodle or any poodle mix.

Our MBFKC family! We have an amazing team and our pack members are the best!

How many dogs do you see yourself with in the future?

Why did you decide to work with dogs?
I've always loved animals and I grew up always having a dog in the family. From the crazy mixed breeds to the explorative beagles and loving labradors; I love every single one of them! I finally had the opportunity to work with dogs late in my career and have adored every single moment of it.

Do you have any doggy related qualifications and previous experience?
I have qualifications in animal psychology and pet business, as well as a certificate in dog first aid & CPR.

What's your favourite dog breed and why?
It would have to be spaniels, as I find they’re the most beautiful breed and I love their long, floppy ears! They are also very playful and give plenty of love and cuddles.

What's your favourite thing about MBFKC?
One of the best things is the people; everyone was so friendly and welcoming and made me feel completely comfortable right from the start. I also love being able to have so much interaction with all the dogs that come to daycare.

How many dogs do you see yourself with in the future?
I have one dog at the moment but would love another one to keep him company.
